I just stumbled upon the PACE Race Series. The PACE Race Series is a series of road races organized by the Prostate Cancer Education Council (PCEC) as a way to raise awareness of prostate cancer and men’s health issues. The next race is October 10th in Kirkland, my home town! There are three distances: 1K walk, 5K run, and a 10K run. There’s also a run for kids. If you register by tomorrow, September 30th, you can take advantage of the early registration price of $30.
There are a number of super sponsors including the great guys at Everyday Athlete. They’ve been hosting training runs every Thursday at 6:30PM. There’s still two training runs left so if you’re thinking about not entering because you don’t have anyone to train with, the guys have got you covered.
There are a number of great run courses in Kirkland so the scenery is great and it’s a great cause. If that’s not enough, there’s a beer garden being hosted by the Wilde Rover, a great local pub. I’m getting thirsty just thinking about the beer garden, er, run.
